Poeme Cinquante-sept

..Surrounded by stars we lie
Amidst shifting clouds and black and sky
Vented through moonlight brilliance
And crowds and crowds of thousands and millions
..Beneath the world we cry
The lovers that love, and cheat and lie
And through the cloud comes a gentle breeze
Blue and cold, and blows with ease
..Because of nothing we fight
Stupidity blames the black and the white
It's a little too difficult to be so hard
And a little too clear to be so far
..Beside our girls we lust
The girls we love and adore and trust
Inspired by her desire to see me soon
Inspired by voices and the songs they croon
..Tread carefully, we must
Don't disturb the lies or mice or dust
We needn't wake the girl who sleeps
Or buy or sell or give or keep
..Between the walls it gusts
The paranoid children and them and us
Scared to believe in all that's fantasy
Must we only believe in what we see?
